"Replaced Frozen Driver side door lock" Two weeks ago I was sitting in the driver's seat of my 94 Toyota 4-Runner trying to get out. The door was locked shut and I could not lift the lock button. After crawling over the consul and out the passenger door, neither the key nor the key pad would open the driver door. However, the other locks were functioning with manual lifting of the lock button, using the key and key pad. Golden Rule gave me the best price estimate with my telephone description even though they cautioned me that it was based on the worst case scenario and without knowing availability of parts. I took it in so the door panel could be removed to diagnose the problem. It was a simple mechanical failure of parts. Unfortunately Toyota had discontinued the door lock mechanism for this age vehicle. After considerable searching a replacement door lock mechanism was located in another vehicle. The part was removed and arrived at Golden Rule in 24 hours. The replacement part has worked fine and the price for the job was extremely reasonable. One location with a comparable vehicle wanted to sell the entire door for $300.00 but Golden Rule kept looking until the part itself was located. I am glad my '94 Toyota 4-Runner is back on the road without having to crawl over the console to get in and out.
